For the most accurate readings, all measurements should be performed at a liquid temperature of 20°C. How to use the hydrometer: Submerge the hydrometer into a graduated cylinder filled with liquid. It is important that the instrument does not touch the walls of the cylinder. Readings are taken from the scale on the hydrometer. If a reading cannot be obtained (the instrument sinks completely or, conversely, does not submerge), use a hydrometer with a range of 0-40°, 40-70°, or 70-100°.
