What is it for? Birch activated charcoal is an effective means of purifying distillate. It eliminates unpleasant odors and harmful impurities, making the drink taste smoother. Wood charcoal has the ability to bind molecules of different sizes, which increases the degree of alcohol purification. Charcoal filtration can be carried out in two ways: - The charcoal is poured directly into the container with the distillate at a rate of 45-50 grams of charcoal per liter of alcohol with a strength of no more than 40%. After three days, the contents are vigorously shaken and filtered through an ashless filter. - The charcoal is poured into a charcoal column up to 2/3 of its volume, along with a filter to retain charcoal particles. The column is connected to the distiller and allows the liquid to pass through it.
