Wine Thief / Sample Extractor Ø 22 cm, length 62 cm

A wine thief, also known as a sample extractor, is the oldest tool used by a distiller working with barrels. It allows you to effortlessly draw a sample from the very heart of the barrel to assess the drink's readiness. How to use: insert the wine thief into the barrel, then place your thumb over the top opening to create a vacuum inside the device, preventing the liquid from spilling out. Remove the wine thief from the barrel and lower the bottom end into a glass. Lift your thumb from the top opening and voilà, your drink sample is in the glass. Compatible with most barrels ranging from 100 to 130 litres.
