Stout is a dark beer style produced by top fermentation. Its resinous black color captivates with its matte density and complete opacity. The chocolatey foam covers the drink with a thick, compact head, while the high alcohol content creates a special viscosity, leaving "legs" on the walls of the beer glass. The complex flavor can reveal itself as an astringent bitterness of roasted malt with notes of cocoa and strong coffee, or it can take on the character of burnt blackcurrant with a delicate plum aftertaste. The rich aroma is reminiscent of premium cognac aged in oak barrels. Some may find it intense, which can easily be adjusted by shortening the beer's conditioning time.
